Algarve Agenda (https://algarveagenda.online/en) is a free guide to events in the Algarve. We collect as little data as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible

operator of Algarve Agenda. Contact: info@algarveagenda.online.

2. What data we process

Anonymous visit statistics

We count visits to understand which pages are useful. We use no cookies and no third-party analytics. We store only daily totals (page views, device type, language, origin). To count unique visitors we create an anonymous fingerprint from your IP address, browser and a salt that changes every day. It is kept for 2 days only, cannot be linked across days or sites, and we do not store your IP address. We respect the "Do Not Track" setting and ignore bots. Totals are kept for 13 months. Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring audience anonymously.

Submitting an event

When you submit an event we store the event details and your contact email (never published). Purpose: to review the submission and contact you if needed. We keep it for as long as the event is listed and up to 24 months afterwards.

Claiming a page

If you claim a venue, organiser or artist page we store your name, email, role, message and IP address (to prevent abuse). We keep it for up to 24 months.

Advertising requests

If you ask to advertise we store your name, email, company, message and IP address (to prevent abuse), only to answer you and handle the order. We keep them for up to 24 months. Sponsored events are always labelled "Sponsored".

Ticket links

When you click a ticket link we record only the event, the destination domain and the page you came from. No personal data. Some ticket links may be affiliate links, at no extra cost to you.

Saved events

The events you save with the heart icon are stored only in your browser (local storage). They are never sent to us.

Near me

If you use "Near me", your browser asks for permission. Your approximate position is sent to our server to sort events by distance and is not stored.

Spam protection

We limit the number of requests per IP address on forms. This is temporary and is not used for anything else.

3. Third parties

• Maps: when you open a map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address (their policy).
• Weather: we get it from Open-Meteo on our server, so none of your data is sent.
• External links: ticket sellers and organisers' websites have their own policies.
• Hosting: the site is hosted by a web hosting provider, which processes data on our behalf.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and object to processing of your data. To exercise these rights write to info@algarveagenda.online. You may also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD.

5. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also our cookie policy.
